Rachael Maddux’s essays, reviews, and features have appeared in The Oxford American, The Virginia Quarterly Review, The Believer, Guernica, and other places. Right now she’s working on a memoir about growing up mortal in the South at the turn of the 21st century. Her work has been noted in Best American Sports Writing 2016 and collected in Best American Travel Writing 2015 and Scratch: Writers, Money, and the Art of Making a Living. In 2010 she was a finalist for a National Magazine Award in Reviews & Criticism.
